This is a complimentary evaluation version of iRegatta, providing users access to all features for a limited duration. However, GPS and NMEA0183 inputs will automatically disable after four minutes of use. Users interested in extended functionality can purchase additional features through In-App Purchases. The full version, 'iRegatta Pro,' unlocks Basic, NMEA, and AIS functionalities.

iRegatta serves as both a tactical regatta application and a cruising navigation tool tailored for the iPhone. Leveraging the built-in GPS unit along with the iPhone's unique graphical capabilities, this app is particularly well-suited for on-water activities.

For those already in possession of an iPhone, this application offers an economical introduction to the advantages of GPS technology, potentially enhancing sailing performance during regattas. It is worth noting, however, that the iPad lacks waterproofing; nevertheless, there are various protective covers available that allow for safe operation in wet environments. This enables users to mount the device near existing instruments on their keelboat or secure it to their arm when sailing a dinghy.

 <li>Main View: Displays four key metrics such as Heading, Speed, VMG, and Performance. Includes a lift indicator for wind shifts and graphs illustrating speed and VMG trends over a customizable time frame.</li>
 <li>Wind Direction: Input wind direction by saving headings while sailing upwind on starboard and port tack or by manual entry.</li>
 <li>Start View: Contains a countdown timer (with synchronization) and allows users to mark the starting line while calculating the distance to it, provided wind direction is set.</li>
 <li>Statistics View: Offers insights into current position, trip odometer, maximum speed since the last reset, and displays a polar diagram reflecting speed and VMG based on wind speed.</li>
 <li>Waypoints: Navigate to pre-stored waypoints or create temporary ones through cross bearing using the internal camera or manual distance/bearing input.</li>
 <li>Tracking: Record tracks for visualization on a map or export them for further analysis on a computer.</li>
 <li>NMEA0183 Instrument Integration: Receive instrument data via Wi-Fi instead of internal GPS (available as an In-App Purchase).</li>
 <li>AIS Functionality: Display AIS data received over Wi-Fi in a Radar-like view (also an In-App Purchase).</li>
 <li>Watch App: Monitor data and operate start line features directly from your watch. Additionally, track sailing activity to contribute to closing activity circles utilizing HealthKit.</li>
